What is IPL / Photofacial?

Also known as: Intense Pulsed Light, Photofacial, Photorejuvenation

An IPL photofacial uses broad-spectrum pulses of light to reduce brown spots, redness, and sun damage, improving overall skin tone with minimal downtime.

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Unlike a laser, which uses a single wavelength, IPL releases a broad spectrum of light that the skin's pigment and blood vessels absorb. This makes it well suited to treating sun spots, freckles, and facial redness, which is why it is often called a photofacial or photorejuvenation.

A photofacial evens out skin tone and gives the complexion a brighter, clearer look, usually with little to no downtime. At UDERMA, IPL-based treatment is delivered through the Sciton BBL HERO platform. A series of sessions often produces the most noticeable improvement.
