What is Neuromodulator?
Also known as: Neurotoxin, Botulinum Toxin, Wrinkle Relaxer
A neuromodulator is an injectable that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to soften lines like frown lines, forehead creases, and crow's feet. Botox and Dysport are common examples.
Neuromodulator is the umbrella term for injectable wrinkle relaxers based on botulinum toxin. They work by gently and temporarily blocking the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. When a treated muscle relaxes, the dynamic wrinkles it creates, such as frown lines and crow's feet, soften and smooth out.
Common brand-name neuromodulators include Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and Jeuveau. Results typically appear within a few days to two weeks and last for several months before a touch-up is needed. A skilled injector tailors placement to keep your expressions natural.
