Super MOXI®
next-generation fractional 1927 nm laser handpiece
Super MOXI is Sciton's newer, faster version of its MOXI handpiece, using the same 1927 nanometer, water-targeting, fractional laser wavelength as MOXI rather than a different technology. Sciton says the update adds a twin-beam delivery system, which it calls HD Delivery, along with a more powerful diode, so a provider can cover the same area in roughly half the time, or treat larger areas of the body in a single visit, compared with the original MOXI handpiece. Because the underlying wavelength and target (water in skin cells) are unchanged, it is intended for the same kinds of concerns as MOXI, such as early sun damage, uneven tone and rough texture, but with added treatment-intensity options and faster sessions. It is available on Sciton's mJOULE and JOULE X platforms and can be paired with other Sciton handpieces such as BBL HEROic or ProFractional in a single visit. This research did not find a device-specific FDA 510(k) record for Super MOXI itself; it is presented by Sciton as an evolution of the already-cleared 1927 nm platform rather than as a newly and separately reviewed device.
