Rejuran

salmon DNA polynucleotide (PDRN) skin-quality injectable

Rejuran is an injectable treatment made by the South Korean company PharmaResearch Co., Ltd. It is made from polynucleotides, which are fragments of DNA purified from salmon (or, in some product lines, trout) tissue, suspended in a solution and injected into the skin. It is marketed abroad, mainly in South Korea and other parts of Asia and in Europe, for improving skin quality, such as texture and elasticity, rather than for adding volume the way a traditional filler does. The injectable is not FDA approved or cleared in the United States. A separate, differently regulated line sold under a related name in the US is a topical, not injected, cosmetic skincare product; topical cosmetics do not require the same FDA pre-market approval that an injectable device does, and that topical line should not be confused with the injectable treatment.
